Collections are subsets of images scoped within your projects. There are filtered collections that are always part of a project. Filters show rejected, approved, undecided or all images of a project.

You can create your own collections as well. Add the images of your choice to your collections or remove them from those again. They are completely independent of the pre-set filter functions of smart collections.
